Cornerstone Retrievers was started in 1987 when we were aquired by our
first Labrador Retriever (Dixie). Since that time, we have become highly involved
in several organizations, most notably the Bryan-College
Station Retriever Club, the Hunting
Retriever Club and Texas Retrievers.
We are committed to breeding, raising, and training high quality Labrador Retrievers
that are pleasant family dogs and will excel in both the field (ie. "real hunting") and
test/trial situations, with a keen eye on maintaining a proper Labrador Retriever "look".
Our Dogs
Breeding
We completed a breeding of Bonnie to
FC Pin Oak's Texas Rex
during the Thanksgiving holidays. The One Puppy (Precious) arrived on January 25.
and she will be ready to go to her new home ~March 22, 2006).

Note about Puppy Registration: Our pups are sold with both
AKC and UKC registation papers.
The UKC does not have a "limited registration" program, so the pups come with
the standard UKC registration.
The AKC registration used is the "Limited Registration". This is done because we want to make sure
that the pups will not be bred without first achiving at least a minimum level
of performance and health certifications. This registration can be upgraded to
a "Full Registration" when the dog:
Recieves an OFA rating of "Good" or better on hip X-rays
Recieves a CERF clearance on eyes
CNM certification (see http://www.labradorcnm.com/
for more information)
Recieves a "mid-level" performance title (eg. SH) or better
from a nationally recognized organization
Note that we do not charge a fee if you wish to upgrade the registration level (the AKC does charge
a minimal fee for the paperwork).

Dog Trax
Dog Trax is a software program written by myself and my brother designed
specifically for use by Retriever Clubs. It will run on computers running MS
Windows® (98, ME, 2000, & XP). Its main purpose is to give club
secretaries and hunt test/field trial secretaries a tool to make their jobs easier.
Thus, it is a database application which:
- Provides a method of tracking information on the people associated with
the club (eg. club members, those who run hunt tests and/or field trials).
- Provides a method of tracking information on the dogs that particiapate
in hunting (ie. so information only needs to be entered the first time a
dog is "seen").
The program currently can be used by Retriever Clubs afflilated with the AKC,
UKC/HRC, and NAHRA. Immediate plans for future versions of Dog Trax will allow
for conformation and obediance hosting clubs. Long range plans are to have a whole
series of "animal" Trax programs (eg. for cat clubs, 4H clubs, etc). The program
is priced to be quite attractive to non-profit clubs. Please see the website
linked above for complete information.
